The Hobbitt House

Will went grocery shopping for the Hobbitt House
Here I am

Will and Ella checking things out

Even Daisy is welcome

Kristin joining in....

Eventually the Hobbitt House will be landscaped

I was inspired by the children's area at Silverton's Oregon Garden this summer to add a Hobbitt House to the play area at our house, that we just happen to be updating for Will and Ella. The first task was to find a four foot diameter PVC pipe. I found that was not an easy task, and the only one I did find online was very expensive. Then I thought of our friend Harold--Harold knows a lot of people, two days after I asked him if he had any PVC connections, the pipe appeared in our driveway. We still have some landscaping to do, but Will and Ella have enjoyed playing in it,and it seems to add a very interesting element to our Children's Garden.

East Coast Visit

Here we are debating the issue of when Ed lost his "Blankie"

Family Picture minus Bill, he was in Maine
Cheryl organized a family dinner when we first arrived on the east coast. Somehow the debate resurfaced concerning when Ed lost his "blankie." We can all agree it happened in the car, we can all agree he was waving it out the window, we can all agree our Mom said "Don't do that Eddie, you're going to loose it out the window, we can all agree our Dad said, "If you loose it, I will not turn around to get it," and we can all agree that his older siblings laughed hysterically with no regard to the possible trauma that he may have felt. The part we do not agree on is where we coming and/or going from---the beach(my memory) or Niagara falls. The debate may never be resolved, but it is a fun memory to discuss.

The Month of Dave

There are lots of birds here
Crane Prairie Reservoir-a great place to kayak

DDavid made a friend in LaPine

One of MANY sunset pictures

As long as I can remember David has loved the month of September. When he was working, he managed to take off as much of the month as possible. I started calling September "The Month of Dave." Central Oregon is a perfect place to spend time in September, a great place to bike, hike and kayak--without the crowds. This year David managed to get over there for some kayaking and hiking, despite two cracked ribs. This was going to be my first year to experience this Month of Dave event, but I had some conflicts. I will be there next year.

Will picked the Zebra to ride on

Ella was looking back checking on Will

We always enjoy our time with Will and Ella.
We had a full morning playing at our Hobbitt House, going to the Carousel and playground
By the time Tonya came back we were exhausted, but definitely looking forward to next time.

First Post

I started this blog to keep anyone interested in the happenings of the Rosling family. Here are some pictures from our weekend.

Labor day weekend was full of activity--a wedding to attend, canning tomatoes, outside projects around the house and a family BBQ.
The first picture is the Hobbitt House that David is building.

We had corn on the cob--Will needed to FLOSS.
The play area that we are updating for the grandkids.
